KMaRCH, 2nd day
Well, the KMaRCH this year was an absolute successful event for us. The Hungarian team get lot of trophies (István and Fanny are the overall winners of novices and Aniko with Phoebe of experts), I had a chance to judge with great and experienced people, I learnt a lot. And my novice dogs did well their job (it’s a bit funny to mention my 9 years old Netty as a novice, but it was her very first competition as a disc dog). The most amazing competitor for me was Monique, she was everything that this competition was about – I’m sure that everybody who saw her on the field knows what I mean.
I WANT this dog!
Clear! (OK, no more corgi pictures, sorry
)
Hop-scotch field (Krisz and Luca)
Monique
Sven
And the usual boring black and white creatures:
I arrived home about 11 a.m on Monday – there is something mysterious about this thing, we started together with the others, I stopped for 3 hours to sleep , and they arrived around 2 p.m. I just changed my clothes and went to work – well, Monday is a working day, isn’t it?
Training is fun
I know, I didn’t finish the story of the KMaRCH yet, that will be the next post, I promise. But we started to practice our new routine today, and it was FUN, as you see:
It just a small detail of my right leg… Sven, thanks for the vest, but I think I need something more…
KMaRCH 1st day
Greetings from Belgium! I arrived yesterday afternoon, after 13 hours driving. I travelled alone (OK, Moss, Morgan, and Netty were with me, but I didn’t let them drive), so I tried to to everything to make the trip more interesting. So German readers, if you saw a blue car covered with fur inside and with a permanently singing driver (classical rock on the most terrible voice of the world), it was definitely me.
First impressions after the first day of the competition: Sven and Katrien still fantastic hosts, it seems that they are everywhere at the same time and can solve everything. Welsh Corgis are the most adorable dogs in the world, and obstacle course is far more funnier that I thought it before. And it was so refreshing to see everybody playing just for the play, and not for trophies.
Details and results later, there will be a second round of every challenge tomorrow. And another long drive home at night…
No Martini, no party
Here is a short summary of our trip to the Italian Qualifier.
08.15 Start from Veresegyhaz with our rented Ford Transit. It’s beautiful, big and comfortable, we all agree that we would go to Belgium next week with this.
09.30 meet the others at Nyugati station. The Ozdi family with Andi are travelling with a smaller car, everybody else (9 more person with 10 dogs) in the Ford.
10.12 Did you hear that George Clooney has a house at the Lake Garda? We should buy some Martini.
16.45 The clutch has broken near Ljubjana. A quick phone call to the Slovenian Ford Club for help.
17.10 the first bottle of wine has opened.
18.30 here is a mechanic sent by the Club. He speaks only Slovenian, but not fluently.
18.50 The car will be OK on Monday, there is no way to repair it sooner. We need somebody to bring us to Italy – or home.
19.42 Hey, I found Internet connection!
20.15 We gave up finally. Kriszti, Attila and Andi will be the only Hungarian competitors at the Italian Qualifier. Ciao, George, I hope we will meet one day
21.00 Two car is coming for us from Budapest. There is a hope that we will see our families ever again.
21.22. We are out of wine, but started to calculate our next trip. Keep smiling!
21.36 We are singing “I love rock and roll”, I’m sure that we will have new friends soon, Polish truckdrivers are really friendly people.
21.50 The battery of my netbook is low. Last e-mails and forum posts.
22.30 Balint found out a brand new throw, Unfortunately it works only on asphalt, but he has time to work on it.
23.15 Long discussion about training methods.
23.40 Bad luck: you can’t buy any alcoholic drink after 9 p.m. in this country. We all agreed that it’s not an ideal place for founding a family.
02.15 We are saved! Packed everything to the helper cars. Left the place and the rented car at 02.33.
09.10 At Veresegyhaz in my own car at last.
10.25 At home. And try to find out what was the first thing – oh, yes, I started to write a blog post. No news yet of theItalian competition, I hope that everything is OK there.
I entered to the KMaRCH on next weekend with three dogs. It’s 1300 km’s from here. Wish us luck especially for the journey there…
